DAY RIDEAugust 4, 2009Tuesday, August 4th starts out slightly overcast- but the rain is not expected until late afternoon- so we take off on another Day Ride.
Jeff pulling out of the garage.
From our house in North Knoxville, we take Broadway to Norris Freeway, then to 170 North. 170 North leads us to 33 North just above Maynardville.
We take our first stop after the bridge crossing Clinch River.
Another view from the bridge.
Looking at the marina.
Getting back on the road...
heading toward New Tazewell.
We rode through New Tazewell to Thorn Hill and jumped on 131 South toward Washburn.
We stopped for gas and lunch in Washburn.
And looked at some barn art.
After lunch, we continued on 131 South through Luttrell, on to Corryton. We then jumped on Tazewell Pike and rode back into Knoxville and headed home.
Our total ride today was 102 miles and once again, we beat the rain!
And here are a few photos of after our ride- the reason we enjoy being home:
Freddie coming up to see us.
Dave in the Jungle as usual.
Pam with Cindy and Butter.
Jimba is glad we are home.
Allie is happy too!
Jeff with all four of the dogs- Cindy, Shorty, Butter and Susie.
Return to BIKE RIDES.
